Inverters
An inverters' main purpose is to convert DC electricity, which is produced by renewable sources (solar, wind, hydro), to AC electricity, which is the common form that most households use.
Inverters are available in battery based configurations for both Grid Tie and Off Grid systems, and battery-less configurations for Grid Tie systems.
TerraTek provides both Pure Sine wave and Modified Sine wave formats. For battery based systems, the inverter can be reversed to charge a battery bank using an AC power source (such as the grid or a generator).
TerraTek sells and installs single inverters or inverters pre-mounted on powerboards.
Charge controllers
Charge Controllers are used to prolong the life of your battery (bank). The controller keeps track of the charge status of your battery and prevents it from being overcharged which dramatically reduces the battery life's expectancy.
Some Charge Controllers also control Diversion Loads for Wind Turbine or Hydro systems.
New state of the art controllers are available with Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) and the ability to charge a lower voltage battery bank using a higher voltage solar array, which significantly decreases your wire size and cost.

Battery banks
The key component to Off Grid and Backup Power systems is the battery bank. The battery bank enables you to store the energy produced by a renewable source and be able to use it at a later date when you need it.
TerraTek sells and installs batteries in many different formats and voltages such as 2 volt cells, 6 volt L-16's, 6 volt Golf Cart, and 12 volt maintenance free AGM batteries.
TerraTek also provides custom sealed wood and metal battery boxes.
